Juliana Residence Curaçao - Situation

If they would ask you to cut Curaçao in two equal pieces, you probably split the village of ‘Julianadorp’ in two pieces… because this part on the west side of Willemstad is located just near the geographical center of the island. In a mere 45 minutes you can reach both West Point as the most eastern point of the island which can be reached by car...

Of course, these are the outer limits, but it is to point out the central location of this beautiful part of Curaçao. Already in the 1950’s this area was very wanted as the most upscale area of Curaçao then, nowadays it is re-discovered as a very central location for your vacation!

No matter what you like most: the beach life, the cultural richness or the dashing nightlife and casinos… everything is in close distance but be assured that Julianadorp itself is a guarantee for a silent and peaceful night rest.

So, you will not be able to find a better place to stay for your vacation.

Within 2 minutes you reach one of the largest supermarkets on the island (Centrum Supermarket), well known for its wide variety of US- and European products and its famous Meat-, Bread and Deli-section.

Within 4 minutes you’ll find a large shopping mall with a second supermarket, but also many other shops where you can find collections from all over the world at very low prices. This is the place where some fast-food restaurants (such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC) are situated. But also for ice cream lovers, a Baskin & Robbins branch will wait for your order.

A little bit ‘more away’, after 6-8 minutes drive, you will reach Piscadera Bay with its famous hotels such as Mariott, Hilton and Floris Suite who offer great dining and well equipped casino’s. Even better and with more tropical atmosphere, try Hook’s Hut, where you will dine with bare feet in the sand. Enjoy!

And driving to the end of the boulevard of Piscadera, you can park your car easily in the Otrobanda-area with its many nice terraces, café’s and restaurants. Many of them offering beautiful views to the entrance of the natural harbor of Curaçao. Just sit, relax and watch the typical Dutch pontoon bridge closing and opening, allowing the giant ships and cruise vessels to enter or leave the ‘Schottegat’. You will forget how time flies and it is midnight before you realize.

More attracted by the famous beaches, snorkeling or diving sites? You choose the right place as Juliana Residence is close (less then 5 minutes) from Blue Bay, Vaerssen Bay, Piscadera Bay and the village of St. Michiel/Boca Sami. You can relax on the sandy and really ‘bounty’-like beach of Blue Bay or dive the ‘Wall’ with a drop-off of more than 50 meters (170 feet). More intimate sites needed? Just go a little bit further and meet the turtles and seahorses on Vaerssen Bay. You won’t even need to dive here to meet the turtles, snorkeling equipment will do most of the days.

Like to plan some golf? Bring your equipment (or hire…) and go to Blue Bay Golf Resort as they offer one of the most beautiful spots in this part of the Caribbean.

And if you still look for other attractions…also to historical downtown of Willemstad (‘Punda’, a Unesco World Heritage site) it is only a 10 minutes-drive and about the same travel time to the Seaquarium (‘swim or dive with the dolphins’) and the famous beaches and nightlife of Mambo Beach or Lions Dive.

Prefer the quiet west side of the island with more than 40 secluded beaches, dive sites and the beautiful hillside scenery dotted with 17th and 18th \ century red-roofed mansions? Julianadorp is close by as you don’t have to cross the busy parts of Willemstad first. You will reach the beaches of Cas Abao or Porto Mari within 20 minutes and the national parks of Christoffel and Shete Boka (‘Seven Inlets’) in about 30 minutes.
